Hi, I'm Betül,

She is a creative and curious multidisciplinary designer with a special interest in biodesign, currently based in Malmö, Sweden.

In her design approach she blends theoretical knowledge and practical methods from different disciplines to bring an integrated perspective on the problems. Her main areas of interest are in multispecies design, circular design, posthumanism, design in collaboration with living agents. She conducted several projects on those topics and two of them were participant projects in Dutch Design Week 2021 under the BioArt Laboratories, Talent Pressure Cooker.

In most of her projects she worked with a team both with designers and colleagues from other disciplines. She enjoys working with a team and makes a good team member.

Her approach to design is holistic and for her, design serves for the common benefit of people, environment and other agents included.

During her master education she improved herself on complexity of sustainability in depth and gained a further critical thinking approach towards design. She carried out several interdisciplinary design research and projects on design and climate emergencies.

She took part in an international design project between Netherlands and Turkey as a product designer under the topic of design with biomaterials. During the time, she has gained a good experience and expertise on biomaterials, material design and accordingly produced various products with the designed material.
